Through a community-based publishing project, students in grades 3–5 learn how economics works
through a series of cross-curricula activities such as:
- Researching their
community and forming a publishing business

- Writing and producing a book about the community
- Marketing and selling the book
- Analyzing business results
With background materials
and student handouts, the Teacher Resource Manual includes 33 lessons
that cover scarcity, opportunity cost, productivity, incentives, markets
and prices, and supply and demand.
